School of Information Science and Engineering (SISE) was founded in the year of 1992. In 2010, SISE and Hangzhou Institute of Service Engineering (HISE), which was founded in 2008, merged into one. The combination of SISE and HISE further promotes its overall strength.

The Ministry of Education of PRC, Ministry of Commerce of PRC, the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and Hangzhou Municipal Government have been attaching great importance to the development of SISE. Under such big support, SISE was listed among the first batch of reform pilot units concerning cultivation of service outsourcing talents, and the first batch of Pilot Demonstration Colleges and Universities in Zhejiang Province concerning cultivation of application-oriented talents. Steadfastly following the road of close school-enterprise cooperation and the combination of “producing, teaching and research”, the college cultivates a great batch of medium and high-end talents with humanistic literacy, professional skills, international vision and creative thinking.

The Faculty

At present, there are over 70 faculty members in the college, among whom, there are 12 professors, 5 doctoral student supervisors,1 excellent teacher in China and 1 excellent teacher in Zhejiang province respectively, 2 prominent teachers in Zhejiang province, 2 from Provincial Talents Program and 2 from National Talents Program. 70% teachers are vice professors or obtained doctor degrees. Besides, 42% are high level professional collegiate instructors who have extensive overseas working and living experience.
